Role Overview
The Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring all Thrive Venture Group–owned Orangetheory Fitness studios operate safely, efficiently, and at the highest standard of cleanliness and functionality. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and field-based, requiring strong technical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a multi-unit fitness organization.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular visits to all company-owned locations to assess repairs, safety, and overall facility condition (interior and exterior)
- Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections on building systems and fitness equipment
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls, including after-hours situations as needed
- Execute emergency and non-emergency repairs in a timely manner.
- Manage and track facilities-related expenses while working within established budgets
- Prepare facilities for seasonal and weather-related changes; proactively identify and address potential issues
- Maintain familiarity with equipment and facility warranty specifications to ensure proper service and compliance
- Collaborate closely with the Facilities Director to ensure all studios are operating at an optimal level.
- Utilize internal platforms and systems to ensure repairs, communication, and documentation are organized, accurate, and timely
- Communicate clearly and consistently; respond to emails, calls, and messages in a timely manner
- Adapt to shifting studio needs and priorities in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment
- Safely lift and move equipment and materials weighing up to 100 lbs
Skills & Experience
Strong working knowledge of:
- Patching and painting
- Plumbing
- Minor electrical work
- Mechanical systems
- General construction
- Experience maintaining and repairing fitness equipment (preferred)
- Confidence troubleshooting technology and equipment-related issues
- Strong computer skills and comfort using digital platforms for tracking and communication
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and work independently across multiple locations
Freemotion Certification (company-sponsored; certification and licensing provided)
