We are seeking an experienced Lead Architect to drive the strategic vision and technical direction of enterprise infrastructure for a leading organization in the utility sector. This opportunity is ideal for a senior technical leader with a proven track record in cloud-native architecture and Kubernetes management. The position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for a balanced mix of in-office and remote work, and is structured as a long-term engagement. As Lead Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that directly support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute architecture roadmaps for Kubernetes-based platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies and future scalability.
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters, focusing on high availability, security, and performance across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Lead cloud-native initiatives to streamline infrastructure, reduce costs, and drive innovation within the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps, development, and leadership teams to ensure technical solutions meet business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and enforce security standards, governance policies, and best practices to maintain compliance and safeguard critical systems.
  • Provide architectural expertise and mentorship to systems analysts, engineers, and junior architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and offer thought leadership to cross-functional teams, supporting decision-making and project planning.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure capacity plans to support the organization's long-term growth and strategic vision.
  • Create, document, and enforce technology standards and policies to ensure consistency, reliability, and quality across all systems.
  • Conduct research and recommend emerging technologies to improve infrastructure flexibility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in IT with a focus on systems and software architecture, design, development, and deployment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in documenting systems and software architectures using modeling languages such as UML and E-R diagrams.
  • Proven experience in hardware and software evaluation, requirements gathering, and strategic planning for enterprise environments.
  • Advanced technical architecture, support, and documentation skills, with a strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Background in cloud computing and infrastructure, software development, networking, security, and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices is highly desirable.
  • Kubernetes certifications (such as CKA, CKS) and cloud certifications (such as AWS Certified Kubernetes Specialist) are preferred.
  • Utility industry experience is advantageous but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Pay Range:
$60.00 – $65.00 Per Hour

This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
