Our client is looking to hire a Project Manager. They are a Chattanooga, TN-based General Contractor specializing in small-scale commercial construction—primarily single-story buildings with metal frames. Their projects span the country, including locations in Texas, Michigan, Florida, and beyond. As they continue to grow, they are looking for their next great, passionate, and energetic Superintendent.
As a Project Manager, you'll be the boots on the ground—managing day-to-day field operations and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with top-tier quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on position best suited for individuals who thrive in the field and are passionate about learning the full scope of construction management.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Scheduling
Develop project timelines, milestones, and schedules.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Use project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
Budgeting & Cost Control
Estimate costs and prepare budgets.
- Manage procurement and track expenses.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
Team Coordination
Lead project teams, including site supervisors and contractors.
- Ensure all stakeholders communicate effectively.
Quality & Safety Management
Enforce safety regulations and building codes.
- Conduct inspections to maintain quality standards.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Resolve conflicts or delays on site.
Reporting & Documentation
Provide regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and change orders.
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
- Budgeting and cost management
- Proficiency in project management tools
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
Professional certifications (optional but valuable):
PMP (Project Management Professional)
- CCM (Certified Construction Manager)
- LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional)
