The Medical Group Management Association MGMA is looking for a
Data Specialist
to join our Denver/hybrid team.

The Data Specialist is responsible for supporting the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) nationally recognized healthcare surveys and data product line by the development, collection, and verification of the data, the production and governance of data resources, as well as supporting the daily operations for the Data Solutions department as needed.

*Essential Functions: *

  • Provide primary customer support for the department by providing technical interpretation of the MGMA data reports and related products and services using Microsoft Office and MGMA proprietary software.
  • Provide daily customer support for survey and data product inquiries via phone, email and data themed discussion groups/communities.
  • Provide the primary support for web-based demonstrations and training sessions of the MGMA DataDive.
  • Audit and maintain up to date external resource and process documentation such as frequently-asked-questions (FAQs), glossaries, user manuals, instructional videos, and similar.
  • Maintain up to date internal Data Solution department data resources such as Microsoft Teams Data Resources channel, OneNote Data Resource Table of Contents, and similar.
  • Supports with the onboarding of new hires.
  • Act as primary back-up support to the Data Analyst with rule violations, survey edits, software and product testing and final data reviews to ensure the MGMA data meets the industry standard we have set.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all survey data.
  • Assist Project Team Leads on planning as needed.
  • Manage day-to-day work assignments, data verification and data entry as necessary.
  • Provide feedback for team discussions in the weekly department touchbase.
  • Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Requirements
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA's mission, vision, and values.
  • Ability to maintain strong knowledge of MGMA tools and other healthcare resources.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in various mediums.
  • Ability to perform basic database functions and manipulate data through the download/upload processes.
  • Must be highly detail oriented.
  • Must be organized, eager to learn, able to take initiative, work independently and be creative.
  • Must be able to communicate with Association members regarding financial, compensation and productivity information as reported in surveys.
  • Must have the ability to establish an effective working relationships.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

*Education: *

  • An Associate degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, or related field is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Health or Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, or related field is preferred.

*Experience: *

  • One (1) or more years of experience in a customer service in healthcare or business administration, survey research or closely related field experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft based products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet applications is required.
  • Knowledge of OneNote, SharePoint, Dynamics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry or previous work experience in a medical practice is preferred.
  • Accounting and database experience are preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license.

This Is a Largely Sedentary Role, So Employee Must Be Able To Remain In a Sedentary Position While Focusing For Extended Periods Of Time Throughout The Workday. Position Also Requires Occasional Movement Inside The Office To Access File Cabinets, Printers, Etc. While Performing The Duties Of This Job, Employee Is Regularly Required To Successfully Navigate Scenarios Requiring The Following Operational Abilities:

  • Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
  • Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
  • Ability pull/push, lift, open/close, grasp/manipulate, transport up to 10 lbs.
