Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced morning sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This individual will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, lead the culinary team, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes. The Sous Chef will be responsible for menu development, staff training, inventory control, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu execution, and service.
Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring proper techniques and standards are followed.
Oversee food production, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation of all dishes.
Collaborate on menu development, including seasonal changes, specials, and themed events.
Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs while minimizing waste.
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.
Provide leadership during service, coordinating with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of kitchen staff.
Step into the Executive Chef role during absences, ensuring continuity of kitchen leadership.
*Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a high-end, high-volume kitchen environment.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, inventory management, and food cost control.
Proven ability to create innovative menus and dishes while maintaining consistency and quality.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety standards.
