About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Financial Data Analyst to join our team at Centene. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the organization's financial decision-making processes through comprehensive data analysis and reporting. Your primary responsibilities will include developing integrated revenue and expense analyses, generating detailed financial reports, and providing insights that influence strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will utilize a combination of financial analysis tools and data analytics technologies to interpret complex datasets, identify trends, and present actionable insights to senior management. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from home, with occasional visits to our Long Island City, NY office for meetings. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong analytical skills, capable of supporting various business initiatives and process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in statistical or data analysis
  • Experience with financial analysis, including month-end close, government reporting, and financial forecasting
  • Proficiency in SQL query writing is highly preferred
  • Healthcare or managed care data analytics experience is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated revenue and expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations
  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Identify trends and developments within competitive environments and communicate findings to senior management
  • Perform financial forecasting and reconcile internal accounts to ensure data integrity
  • Support business initiatives by conducting data analysis, identifying implementation barriers, and participating in user acceptance testing of systems
  • Diagnose operational and financial issues, recommending process redesign and improvements
  • Document processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support organizational goals
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
