Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges swiftly.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and maintain precise cash handling procedures.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly.
• Assist customers with product demos and provide detailed information about merchandise to enhance their shopping experience.
• Upsell products and suggest additional items to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer needs are met.
• Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the store is clean, inviting, and well-stocked.
• Support inventory management by stocking new products, conducting regular stock checks, and assisting with inventory counts.
• Use effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth store operations.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic retail math to handle transactions accurately and manage sales reports effectively.
• Provide bilingual support when needed to serve a diverse customer base better.
• Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
• Engage in product demos to educate customers about features and benefits of various items.
• Support supervising staff during peak hours or busy periods by helping manage customer flow and ensuring excellent service.

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures in a retail or grocery store environment.
• Strong supervising experience or leadership skills to assist in team coordination when necessary.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers confidently.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus for serving a broader clientele effectively.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations including stocking, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for cash handling and sales transactions.
• Experience in upselling techniques to increase sales while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Familiarity with phone etiquette for professional communication over calls or inquiries. Pay: $ $16.00 per hour
