- As a consultant within the Vertical team, you will work with our clients to define their digital strategy and execution roadmap, and design and implement differentiated digital solutions to help deliver measurable value.
- Job Description:
- Role Summary: The Release Engineer is responsible for managing the software build, release, and deployment processes, ensuring the integrity and stability of production environments. This role involves collaboration with development and operations teams to streamline and automate processes, resolve issues, and ensure successful software delivery, including regular software upgrades.
- Key Responsibilities:
- 1.Build and Deployment Management: Design, implement, and maintain build and deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools. Automate build and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability. Manage version control systems and ensure proper branching strategies are followed.
- 2.Release Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with development and operations teams to define release schedules and scope. Coordinate and execute release activities, including actual deployment to production environments. Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes and deployment guides.
- 3.Monthly Software Upgrades: Plan, schedule, and execute monthly software upgrades to ensure systems are up to date and secure. Collaborate with development teams to test upgrades in staging environments before deployment. Communicate with stakeholders regarding upgrade schedules, impacts, and outcomes.
- 4.Environment Management: Oversee the configuration and management of development, testing, and production environments. Ensure environments are properly maintained, updated, and consistent with release requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve environment-related issues in a timely manner.
- Development Team Support: Work closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into the release process. Ensure that releases meet quality standards and compliance requirements. Analyze and report on release metrics and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices for release engineering. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance release processes. Participate in post-release reviews to gather feedback and drive future improvements.
- Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Assess risks associated with releases and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact release schedules or quality. Maintain a log of issues and resolutions for future reference.
- Required Skills: Proven experience in release engineering, software development, or DevOps roles.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Proficiency in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (e.g., Grafana). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
