Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning fresh produce and other food items to ensure readiness for cooking and plating
• Assist in meal preparation by following recipes and portioning ingredients accurately for various menu items
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including sanitizing surfaces and proper food handling procedures
• Support cooking activities by assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including assembling dishes and managing cooking stations
• Handle food safely by adhering to all food safety regulations, including proper storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices
• Assist with menu planning support tasks such as ingredient inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed
• Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with kitchen staff and supporting efficient food service operations

Requirements

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
• Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings is preferred
• Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices
• Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
• Familiarity with catering or food service environments is a plus
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and enthusiasm
• Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and a proactive attitude toward kitchen safety and cleanliness
