SUMMARY
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for administering and coordinating human resource programs and procedures, covering the day-to-day HR functions spanning the full employee lifecycle while offering assistance and support to the HR department.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacts effectively and positively with all employees, supporting them in their employment with CTCLUSI.
- Actively fosters positive relationships with the leadership team of CTCLUSI.
- Communicates with Leaders to encourage building a positive workplace culture through best practices and adherence to Policies and Procedures.
- Understands the importance and ensures the confidentiality of documents, conversations, and employee matters.
- Participates in the efficiency of the HR department by bringing forward suggestions and ideas to improve and streamline policies or processes.
- Maintains HR forms and documents in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and provides updates to employees on compliance related notices.
- Creates, updates, and maintains HR related forms and notices, distributing new forms and archiving old forms promptly.
- Ensures compliance and completion of all current and terminated personnel files according to document retention procedures.
- Coordinates the Special Events program, filling requests and ensuring proper processing for timely placement and accurate accounting for Payroll.
- Schedules and facilitates pre-employment and onboarding processes for new employees as needed.
- Assists in the scheduling of interviews and participates in the interview process.
- Performs pre-employment reference checks as requested.
- Facilitates the evaluation process for all employees, guiding leaders as needed to ensure timely delivery, constructive feedback and adherence to wage increase procedures.
- Processes employee changes such as new hires, job changes, payroll coding updates and rate increases.
- May assist in the coordination of activities for annual open enrollment.
- Supports the design, development, and implementation of employee recognition programs and employee relation activities.
- May be requested to compile data and prepare ad hoc reports.
- Monitors and tracks the employee background process, ensuring timely updates and prompt action keeping all employees up to date per policy.
- May assist with witnessing and note taking during confidential investigation interviews.
- Collaborates with Finance and Procurement to track and monitor purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely processing, accuracy, and compliance with CTCLUSI purchasing policies.
- Other duties as directed by management.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to work in a high stress atmosphere.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds.
LEVEL OF AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS:
- Not a supervisory position.
WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
- Must be willing to travel out of town as needed.
- Moderate noise level with frequent interruptions and distractions.

Experience and Skills:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 25 yrs. of age or older per vehicle use policy.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to be insured to drive Tribal Government vehicles.
- Requires three (3) years' experience in a confidential administration role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General understanding of computer programs, with high proficiency in all Windows applications.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment where organization, prioritization and teamwork are required for success.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, verbally, in writing or by other acceptable means.
- This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal history background check, which will include fingerprinting.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.
