Tytan Technology is hiring a
Senior Data Scientist
with deep
Oil & Gas domain expertise
and strong capabilities in
AI/ML, LLMs, and Generative AI
. This role supports advanced analytics, modeling, and intelligent decision-making across upstream and midstream operations.
The ideal candidate blends
functional knowledge of drilling, production, reservoir, and field operations
with
modern data science, machine learning, and GenAI-driven techniques
.
Responsibilities
- Analyze production, drilling, reservoir, maintenance, and real-time SCADA/PI sensor data
- Build
predictive, prescriptive, and GenAI-augmented models
for production forecasting, asset performance, anomaly detection, and failure prediction - Apply advanced ML methods, time-series modeling, feature engineering, and statistical techniques on complex O&G datasets
- Develop
LLM-based assistants
, agentic workflows, or retrieval-augmented systems to improve engineering decision support - Conduct EDA, generate insights, and communicate findings to engineering, reliability, and operations teams
- Partner with data engineering teams to design scalable pipelines and improve data quality
- Deploy models into production, develop monitoring frameworks, and support continuous optimization
- Create compelling dashboards, visualizations, and technical reports
- Engage directly with clients to support scoping, PoCs, workshops, and solution delivery
- Mentor junior data scientists and support best practices in modeling, experimentation, and MLOps
Requirements
- 6–12+ years
of hands-on experience in Data Science, ML, or Advanced Analytics - 4+ years
experience in Oil & Gas (upstream, midstream, drilling, reservoir, production, or operations) - Strong proficiency in
Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciKit-Learn)
and applied machine learning - Experience with
LLMs, GenAI solutions, embeddings, vector databases, RAG
, or AI agents (preferred but not mandatory if they can ramp fast) - Strong background in
statistics, predictive modeling, time-series analysis - Experience working with well logs, drilling data, SCADA/PI data, reservoir datasets, or production systems
- Solid understanding of oilfield KPIs, workflows, equipment behavior, and operational challenges
- SQL experience and hands-on work with cloud platforms (
Azure or AWS
) - Experience with
Power BI, Spotfire
, or similar BI tools - Bachelor's or Master's degree in
Data Science, Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field
Nice to Have (Bonus)
- Experience with
agentic AI systems
, autonomous workflows, or domain copilots - Exposure to
MLOps frameworks
(MLflow, SageMaker, Azure ML, Kubeflow) - Experience integrating
LLMs with structured O&G data
for decision intelligence
