Preschool/Daycare Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and the ability to create a nurturing and safe environment. This role involves supporting lead teachers in implementing educational activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing care for children from infancy through preschool age.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in a daycare setting.
• Support lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Engage with children through play, learning activities, and social interactions to foster their growth and development.
• Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive behavior among children.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Provide care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diaper changing, and ensuring their comfort.
• Collaborate with team members to create a supportive environment for all children, including those with disabilities or special needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones.
• Familiarity with special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• First aid certification is desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage effectively with young children.
• Previous experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with children, parents, and staff members effectively.
