*Job Summary*

We are seeking a dedicated Freight Associate to join our team The Freight Associate position is a position that requires the ability to plan, organize, and deliver positive results based on multiple factors characteristic to the retail industry. The Freight Associate must multi-task in a fast-paced environment, engage in a moderate to high level of physical activity, take direction from leaders, provide superior customer service during store hours.

A Freight Associate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

*Systematically rotate and stock all Grocery loads in a clean, organized fashion.

*Support price integrity with daily updates of shelf tags and signage.

* Maintain organization of product placement within the category system on aisles.

* Maintain organization of product within the backroom.

Other duties may include:

* Perform accurate daily receiving of product deliveries.

* Utilize Pallet Jack to unload pallets from truck to backroom or backroom to sales floor.

*In coordination with Owner/Operator, Plan, create, and sustain multiple displays utilizing Grocery Outlet's merchandising and marketing direction, including cross merchandising with other departments.

*Perform daily quality checks of product to maintain maximum freshness and quality on display.

*Execute price changes as required.

*Diligently follow the established food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

*Direct, train, lead, and collaborate with other team members.

*Perform any and all duties in any department or capacity as needed to fulfill the needs of the business.

*Communicate effectively and respectfully with all personnel, and both internal and external customers.

*Uphold all policies and procedures as outlined in the policies and procedures manual.

*Protect the goodwill and reputation of the Grocery Outlet Brand and the Independent Owner/Operator.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in stocking and merchandising within a grocery store environment OR THE ABILITY TO LEARN. WILLING TO TRAIN.
• Capable of moderate to heavy lifting repeatedly for a full 8 hour shift.
• Strong customer service and retail sales skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle inventory management and control, including the use of RF scanners.
• Familiarity with cash register operations and retail math is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $15.00 per hour
