Job Description:
- The Project Manager position requires 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree.
- A master's degree is a plus.
- Project Management Professional certification is a plus.
- Nuclear power plant experience is a plus.
Job responsibilities:
- Include leading the planning, execution, and closure of electric utility projects.
- Ensuring they are completed on time and within budget, collaborating with clients, engineers, field teams, and stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements.
- Developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
- Establishing and managing project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
- Allocating and managing project resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure project goals are met.
- Leading project kick-off meetings, regular progress meetings, and close-out meetings with all relevant stakeholders.
- Managing and mitigating project risks, including technical, schedule, and budget risks.
- Ensuring project compliance with electrical codes, standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Overseeing the development and review of project documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Coordinating with procurement teams to source materials and equipment,
- Ensuring timely delivery to meet project timelines, leading commissioning and testing activities.
- Ensuring systems are operational and meet project requirements, providing technical expertise to address engineering and design issues that may arise during project execution.
- Tracking project performance and providing regular progress reports to clients and senior management.
- Maintaining accurate project records and documentation, including project files and change orders.
- Fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the project team.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to project team members and junior project managers.
- Skillsets and expertise required for this position include experience as a Project Manager in the electric utility industry, strong knowledge of electrical systems, utility infrastructure, and project management principles.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is advantageous, proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera, excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and permitting processes, experience managing cross-functional teams and complex projects, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.
