Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately, including compounded medications.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medication reviews, medical history evaluations, and physiological considerations.
- Manage pharmacy inventory efficiently, ensuring proper stock levels of pharmaceuticals while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
- Administer immunizations and participate in vaccination programs following established protocols.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems and pharmacy software to document patient interactions, medication orders, and clinical notes accurately.
- Provide patient service by offering medication counseling, education on medication administration, potential side effects, and adherence strategies.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards related to retail pharmacy settings, including HIPAA privacy rules and safety protocols for immunizations.
- Assist pharmacy technicians with workflow coordination, ensuring efficient medication distribution and inventory control.
Skills
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems (EMR/EHR), inventory management tools, and non-sterile compounding equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments effectively and collaborate within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to pharmacology to support accurate medication dosing and patient care plans.
- Experience with immunizations administration and understanding of vaccination protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for patient service delivery, staff education, and documentation clarity.
- Ability to manage inventory efficiently while adhering to safety standards for controlled substances and medications requiring special handling.
