About the Role…

The Human Resources department is seeking an outgoing, inquisitive summer intern with strong collaboration and communication skills Gain hands-on experience in all facets of HR, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, benefits, and compensation Tasks and projects will require working on teams, both interdepartmentally and cross-functionally.

Key Projects and Tasks

• Job Descriptions – Strengthen your professional writing skills and learn about federal and state labor laws by updating job descriptions for our North American locations.
• Event Planning – Assist HR Coordinators and Flexco Spirit Committee with event planning Learn about the importance of fostering a fun, inclusive work culture while also effectively managing budgets.
• Recruitment Assistance – Gain hands-on recruiting experience by taking part in Flexco's applicant screening process. Review resumes, conduct phone screens, observe interviews, and collaborate with the Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist.
• Data Entry – Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in Dayforce, our HR software.
• Audit Physical Files – Help ensure compliance by auditing physical personnel files for current and former employees. Properly file sensitive information and research best practices for record retention.

North American Internship Program

The Flexco Summer Internship Program has been designed to assist undergraduate students gain exposure to the Manufacturing Industry, provide hands-on experience in their field of interest, and develop professional skills for their future careers.

Interns at Flexco can expect to…

• Participate in 10-12 weeks of our immersive internship program,
• Experience the Flow of Flexco – weekly meetings with various departments across the business to understand the importance of their role and function within the organization,
• Join bi-weekly coffee chats with members of our Senior Leadership Team, hearing about their educational paths, career journeys, and gaining advice and wisdom,
• Take part in monthly workshops on resume writing, LinkedIn networking, interview do's and don'ts, presentation skills, and Yellow Belt training,
• And showcase what you've learned with a capstone presentation at the end of the summer – highlight a large project/multiple projects you've worked on and share your experiences with Flexco's values.

Requirements

1. Full-time, on-site availability (40 hours/week) to work in our Downers Grove, IL office
2. Currently enrolled in college/university with Fall 2026 registration confirmed
3. Must be a rising junior or higher
4. Major in Human Resources or a related field
5. Experience with Microsoft software including PowerPoint and Word

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Excel preferred
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Outgoing and enjoy working on a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
