DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for designing AC-DC and DC-DC switching power supplies, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic schematic details for power supply applications. As the Electrical Engineer on projects, will participate in the project definition and organization while working closely with the Mechanical Designer and Program Manager. Reviews customer specifications for proposals.
- Design electronics for control of conducted and radiated EMI.
- Develop electronic designs to meet government defense standards such as MIL-STD or other environmental requirements.
- Evaluate electronic components for power supply applications.
- Generate the electronic schematic and component BOM package to support the design.
- Review customer supplied specifications from an electrical, thermal, and reliability standpoint.
- Participate and present information in design reviews to company personnel and customers.
- Provide administrative reporting as required.
EXPERIENCE:
At least five years of experience developing and implementing AC-DC and DC-DC switching power supply topologies. Practical knowledge of electronic packaging standards. Knowledge of military specifications including harsh environments and EMI as applicable.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent training/experience.
SKILLS:
Direct experience with the following or similar technologies: Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project), SPICE simulation, Altium, OrCAD, PADS. Strong oral communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with design team members and present design reviews to supervisors and customers. Strong written communication skills for dealing with documentation and technical disciplines.
