Key Responsibilities:
- Provides a high level of support and consulting in all supported environments, usually requiring research.
- Leads multiple complex technical projects and completes project tasks.
- Evaluates new technologies and methods. Focusing on improving efficiency and automation to advance development productivity.
- Help set the direction for the technical infrastructure of the environment.
- Reduce overall risk posture within windows env for R&D, prioritize reduction of existing vulnerabilities and implement an effective/repeatable vulnerability management process
- Technical Lead in guiding junior engineers.
- Works without supervision on the most complex projects with complete latitude for discretion and independent judgment.
- Understand R&D development/engineering processes and workflows, focusing on improving efficiency and automation to advance development productivity.
- Reduce overall risk posture within our windows env for R&D, prioritizing reduction of existing vulnerabilities and implementing an effective/repeatable vulnerability management process.
- Support R&D teams in all regions and be point of contact for Windows related issues.
- Help lead Windows mgmt team – improve/automate existing processes (Tanium, SCCM, …)
Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor's degree with a preferable emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
- Microsoft Windows (Server/Client) administration experience (10+ years)
- Break-fix and troubleshooting skills both on individual endpoints and at scale
- SW Development (5+ yrs) development lifecycle (SDLC) experience with strong DevOps background
Desirable skills-
PowerShell
- Python
- JavaScript
- Puppet
- Ansible
SQL
GIT experience-
GitLab-CI/CD experience required
- Understanding of containers, docker build, and integration with GitLab
Understand branching, tagging and release management
Tanium experiences desirable-
Writing custom sensors
General administration and maintenance
Automation (scripting, PowerShell, etc.)
- Configuration Management (SCCM or other CM tools)
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions to improve efficiency and reliability of infrastructure management.
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience in collaborating with software engineering teams to enhance development processes.
- Collaborative Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Automation Specialists, DevOps, and Infrastructure Engineers.
- Automation Expertise: Proficiency in designing and implementing automation solutions for operational and software development teams. Experience with tools like Puppet and Ansible would be essential.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and experience in writing declarative code to manage infrastructure resources efficiently.
- DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and version control systems like Git.
- Configuration Management: Some experience and understanding of configuring and managing large-scale infrastructure components using configuration management tools.
- Advanced skills and knowledge of the field and technical expertise.
