We are seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our busy Chicago, Illinois logistics hub. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, and organize inventory within our warehouse. Your ability to manage materials effectively will directly contribute to the smooth flow of our supply chain and ensure timely order fulfillment. A strong emphasis on Safety, adherence to operational standards, and experience with various forklift types are essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional in the logistics field.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, etc.) to move, stack, and retrieve materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers accurately and efficiently.
- Place materials in designated locations, ensuring proper racking and organization.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of forklift equipment; report any issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counting and stock rotation.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures, including mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Contribute to overall team productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Thorough knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Understanding of logistics, inventory control, and material handling techniques.
- Excellent spatial awareness, coordination, and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
