Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator in Grand Rapids, Michigan! We are seeking a certified and experienced professional to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack merchandise, maintaining inventory accuracy, and contributing to the overall smooth operation of our logistics hub. Safety is paramount in this role, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all safety procedures and regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, possesses excellent operational skills, and is committed to maintaining a secure and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, etc.) to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Stack and retrieve products from high-level racking systems.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and verification.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
- Support shipping and receiving teams as needed.
- Ensure efficient material flow to support production and distribution needs.
Valid forklift operator certification is required. Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong knowledge of warehouse safety practices and procedures. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination. Must demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Understanding of basic logistics principles is beneficial. This role is essential for our efficient supply chain and material handling operations.
