We are seeking a reliable and efficient Material Handler for our busy warehouse located in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate movement of goods throughout our facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics chain, supporting receiving, storage, and shipping functions. You will utilize various equipment to manage materials, always prioritizing Safety and attention to detail. If you are a motivated individual with a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and pallet wrappers.
- Transport raw materials, finished products, and other goods to and from production and storage areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper labeling and packaging.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure operational readiness and report any defects.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory control through cycle counting and stock verification.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics and supply chain operations.
- Perform frequent manual Lifting of items, which may weigh up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is required.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to perform significant Lifting and material movement safely.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to excellent work performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
