Our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, monitoring stock levels, and implementing inventory control procedures. You will work closely with receiving, shipping, and operations departments to ensure that all inventory movements are accurately recorded and managed. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. The ability to perform tasks that may involve moderate Lifting and adherence to all Safety regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between system records and physical inventory.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) to minimize obsolescence.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping teams to ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Assist in identifying and managing damaged or expired goods.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, stock levels, and movement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks that may require occasional Lifting.
- Understanding of Safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of inventory best practices and supply chain principles.
