Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and vigilant Night Time Caregiver to provide dedicated support and supervision during overnight hours. This vital role ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents or clients in a home or community care setting. Duties
- Monitor residents' or clients' health status through vigilant observation of vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition during overnight shifts.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistance devices.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks aligned with dietary needs, preferences, and safety guidelines.
- Conduct thorough patient monitoring, including recording vital signs, observing for signs of dementia or Alzheimer's disease, and noting changes in mental or physical health.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed diligently.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents by utilizing first aid skills, CPR certification, and emergency procedures to safeguard residents' health.
- Document all care activities meticulously in accordance with care plans and regulatory standards.
- Support residents with memory care needs or disabilities through compassionate direct support tailored to individual preferences.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to update care plans and ensure holistic support.
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience in caregiving roles within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia or Alzheimer's is highly valued. Familiarity with patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and use of mobility equipment such as Hoyer lifts is essential. A background in hospice care or long-term care settings demonstrates a strong foundation in patient-centered support. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional credentials such as HIPAA training or nursing assistant certification are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work independently overnight while maintaining high standards of safety and compassion is critical for success in this role.
