Nature & Scope: 

Under the general direction of the Material Services Specialist, this position may pull and deliver parts to their internal or external customer, move material throughout the plant, build pallets of component parts, scan part numbers, build totes, and load / unload trucks. Incumbent may also handle excess scrap, and schedule truck lines for scrap, skids, and cardboard.  A person must be able to perform the essential duties accurately and in an organized and timely manner, be customer-focused, have a positive attitude, and be willing to work overtime. The person must desire to improve the business processes they work in.

Essential Duties / Tasks (including but not limited to):

  • Pull parts from inside and / or outside warehouse.

  • Deliver parts to internal customer,

  • Build pallets of component parts

  • Scan part numbers

  • Build totes.

  • Move material throughout the plant.

  • Load and unload trucks.

  • Handle excess scrap.

  • Schedule truck lines for scrap, skids, and cardboard.

  • Lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Operate a Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV)  

  • Use an RFID scan gun to record inventory.

  • Use a computer and keyboard.

  • Complete PIV inspection forms

  • Work overtime to meet customer schedules as needed.

  • Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.

  • Perform ERGO stretches.

  • Work safely while performing job duties.

  • Make hazard observations or observe unsafe actions and report both using Delta's standard procedures.

Education and Experience / Skills:

  • HS diploma or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.

  • Experience operating PIV is preferred.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must have problem solving skills.

  • Able to work independently and with limited supervision.

  • Acceptable disciplinary performance – Employees who have received a written warning (first or second) are not eligible for promotions or transfers for a minimum of six months after receiving that warning.

  • Acceptable attendance performance - Employees who have six or more points are not eligible for promotions or transfers.

  • A human performance evaluation or HPE is an evaluation of a person's physical ability to do a job. An HPE may be required of the applicant or person to determine if they are physically able to perform different tasks related to skills that are critical for success on the job, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Qualifications:

Language Skills

The individual should have the ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta's MOS (Masco Operating System), SFM (Shop Floor Management) system, QMS (Quality Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.

Mathematical Skills

The individual must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

The individual must have the ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.  The person must be able to understand basic reports and daily business requirements.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a person to successfully perform the essential duties. While performing the duties, the person is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The person is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. If a person has not been working in the job for a period of time, they may be required to complete an HPE as a return-to-work requirement to ensure it is safe to resume full functions of the job.
