Job Overview
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) on i3's growing sales and marketing team, you'll help expand business to our legacy client list and prospective targeted lists to open new opportunities in IT projects. This role will be hunting and driving new opportunities while ensuring a smooth transition into project management and deliverables sold.
i3 Business Solutions is looking for an outgoing individual who's very comfortable dialing the phone, pounding the pavement, and prospecting for new accounts.
This position is for inside / outside new customer sales, so a driven, outgoing, 'hunter' personality is a must. The position involves building relationships on the phone and eventually in person with visits to prospects locations.
The proper candidate must be comfortable and have experience discussing business and technology with business and technology professionals. We sell technology products and services to primarily West Michigan organizations.
This is a full time position with a base salary and a commission structure built to reward strong performance on signing new Managed Service clients and project for new clients. Therefore, your comfort with performance-oriented incentive-based compensation is very important.
Position Activities & Responsibilities
The skillset and responsibilities of the Sales Development Representative will be focused on but not limited to:
- Organizing and executing targeted outbound activities by phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate qualified meetings with key decision makers.
- Researching and identify new project opportunities across a target client profile of 20–2,000 employees, with an average deal value of > $20,000.
- Establishing rapport with key decision makers including IT Directors, business owners and management partners, C-level executives, and small business owners.
- Identifying and selling project opportunities relative to:
- Microsoft 365 Licensing, SharePoint, cloud migrations, Teams Voice, and Copilot
- Cybersecurity services and assessments to meet compliance driven requirements
- Larger scale, mid-market and enterprise networking projects
- Business continuity and redundancy in infrastructure including servers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks
- On-premises and/or cloud server infrastructure
- Maintaining accurate CRM updates with key contacts and activities in ConnectWise, OneNote, and manual activity reporting.
- Communicating effectively with our CSMs, vCIO's, CISSOs, Net-Admins, Project Manager, and Level 3 project resources.
- Collaborating with our outbound marketing strategies, product-specific promotions, and project emphasis across networking, all assigned leads and renewal accounts are up to date.
- Effectively identify, quote, and bill > $150,000 of project work annually
- Management of your pipeline with updated opportunities
- Organization of Statements of Work with the assistance of Virtual CIOs and Senior level sales support
- Work with our inside sales team to request quotes by facilitating quote requests, finalizing Statements of Work and delivering quotes to Clients and Prospective Clients
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance to ensure projects are delivered and executed on time
- Proactively identify opportunities across infrastructure needs, managed services, and cybersecurity needs aligned with i3's technology stack
Experience Required
Outbound client-facing sales experience in managed IT services or VAR selling is required
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (and ConnectWise, CPQ, Continuum, IT Glue preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a persuasive, professional tone
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable with technology services and Customer Relationship Management tools (ConnectWise & OneNote preferred) in the Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) space
- Self-driven, resilient, coachable, and growth oriented
- Persistent and motivated by results
- Eager to learn i3's processes and develop professionally
