Data Science Analyst- Internal Audit
In your role as Data Science Analyst, you will have a unique opportunity to see and understand many different retail areas and support functions of our company. You will be part of a global team with colleagues from different backgrounds and you will be performing full data driven audits and data analysis to support business and IT audits. In addition, you will contribute to the improvement of our risk assessment model to ensure that we allocate our audit resources to the most important areas in the company and other internal improvement projects. Every audit is unique, as you will work on different topics within different Global brands.
Internal Audit initiated a digital transformation program to establish a global Data & Technology team, execute data driven audits and risk assessments using new tools and technologies. You will be part of this Global Data & Technology team and contribute to the development of automated dataflows and the implementation of new data science tools and techniques.
Your new work environment.
You will be joining the Global Internal Audit team, consisting of 42 colleagues, including three experienced data scientists. Our goal is rather straightforward: we perform audits across Ahold Delhaize's Global Office and the US and European brands, leveraging our data analytics capabilities to drive more impactful and efficient audits. The impact on the organization is tangible: we act as the third line of defense, performing approximately 70 audit engagements globally per year driving innovation and change in different domains of the company. Our Internal Audit team is filled with smart, high-performing professionals who enjoy pioneering and taking ownership of their work.

Requirements
We think you'll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:
A bachelor's degree in data science or computer/information science
A minimum of 4-6 years of working experience in the field of data science/analytics (e.g., developing data analytic scripts and models on complex datasets) and data engineering (e.g., data pipeline development to automate the ETL process and dataflow)
Experience with programming languages like SQL and Python.
Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Power BI
Critical thinking skills – use independent thought to obtain information and analyze complex situations and intrinsic curiosity.
Effective communication skills – convey information and ideas concisely, both verbally and in writing. Project management skills – work in and/or lead teams to effectively perform work and prioritize assignments within challenging deadlines.
Business Acumen – the ability to understand organizational processes and objectives as well as obtain organizational insight through effective relationships.

Understanding of SAP (e.g., database structure, tables and SAP analytics scripts)
