Location: Philadelphia, PA (Remote with travel less than 15% of the time)

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with strong analytics expertise to design, develop, and deliver enterprise-level business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Power BI, DAX, SQL, data modeling, and BI architecture, along with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable dashboards and insights. Insurance industry experience is beneficial. 

This role is ideal for someone who excels in transforming raw data into impactful visualizations that drive decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize
    Power BI dashboards, reports, and Paginated Reports
     tailored to business needs.
  • Develop advanced
    DAX calculations
    , data models, and data transformations to support analytics use cases.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
  • Build and maintain
    ETL pipelines
     using tools such as
    SSIS
     or
    Azure Data Factory (ADF)
    .
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL databases, ERP/Insurance systems (e.g.,
    Guidewire, SAP
    ), REST APIs, and cloud data warehouses.
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and best practices in visualization and reporting.
  • Optimize dashboard performance and deliver high-quality, user-friendly analytics experiences.
  • Work closely with data engineering and business teams to maintain and enhance BI architecture.
  • Support BI adoption across the enterprise through documentation, training, and stakeholder communication.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience
     in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related roles.
  • Expert proficiency in
    Power BI
     (Reports, Dashboards, Power BI Service, Power BI Embedded).
  • Strong knowledge of
    DAX, SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL)
    , and
    data modeling
     principles.
  • Experience with enterprise data sources and integration (SQL Server, REST APIs, ERP/Insurance systems).
  • Proficiency in
    Python
     (pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with
    ETL tools
    , including SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
  • Advanced
    Excel
     skills for analytics and reporting.
  • Experience with
    Snowflake
    ,
    Spark
    , or other modern data platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with
    Git
     and version control best practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building BI solutions at enterprise scale.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms.
  • Ability to optimize dashboards for performance and user experience.
  • Experience with Tableau or other BI tools (optional but beneficial).
  • Insurance industry experience.
