Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation and fine dining. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Duties

• Prepare and present sushi dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed during meal preparation and cooking.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper food handling techniques.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service times.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
• Stay updated on current trends in sushi cuisine and incorporate innovative techniques into menu offerings.
• Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation.
• Proficiency in knife skills and various cooking techniques specific to sushi preparation.
• Experience in fine dining establishments is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine, is essential.
