CNC Set-Up Operator – Saline, MI
Full-Time | $25-$29 p/h | 2nd Shift
A growing manufacturing and engineering organization in Saline, Michigan is looking to add a CNC Set-Up Operator to its Design & Engineering department. This position plays a hands-on role in the creation and preparation of tooling components by setting up and running CNC mills and lathes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to producing accurate, high-quality parts.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, set up, and run CNC equipment while ensuring all programmed specifications are achieved.
- Secure and position materials using a variety of fixtures, clamps, and hand tools.
- Perform ongoing quality checks using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators.
- Change inserts, tooling, and cutting components as needed during machining operations.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality throughout the machining process.
- Stop production immediately and escalate concerns if a safety or quality issue arises.
What We're Looking For
- At least one year of experience working with CNC machines or programmable metal-cutting equipment.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to use measuring devices including rulers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Capability to interpret technical drawings and written procedures.
- General familiarity with manufacturing materials, graphics substrates, or related production processes.
Work Environment
- Active, hands-on work in a tooling and manufacturing setting.
- Extended periods of standing.
- Exposure to warm, noisy, or dusty conditions depending on the task.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
