Job Description

At Visa, the Issuer Processing function aims to offer processing products that are innovative and future ready. Visa DPS is one of the largest Issuer Processors of Visa Debit transactions. The Program Manager role is a critical part of the DPS team.

As a key member of the DPS Program Management team, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will take full accountability for their program and projects, from planning to delivery, demonstrating a deep commitment to success. They will proactively address potential issues, exhibit strong leadership and decision-making skills, and effectively motivate their team. With exceptional communication abilities, they will foster collaboration and ensure alignment with project goals. By maintaining focus on objectives and driving towards excellence, they will ensure that every deliverable meets or exceeds expectations, ultimately contributing to the organization's overall success.

 Essential Functions

Project Planning and Execution: 

  • Own projects end-to-end.  Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource assignments.

  • Engage stakeholders, identify and mitigate risks, track progress, ensure quality deliverables, resolve challenges, and lead teams to success.

  • Follow up on action items and ensure timely closure of open items.

  • Clearly communicate status to all levels of stakeholders with varying degrees of detailed information.

Program Oversight: 

  • Oversee multiple related projects within a larger strategic objective, managing interdependencies to align with program and strategic goals.

  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Meeting Management & Planning: 

  • Prioritize project agenda topics, manage action items, prepare materials, and coordinate project-related activities

  • Plan for critical meetings, including schedule management, pre-work, meeting topics, supporting materials, and follow-ups.

  • Utilize project management tools and software for efficient tracking and reporting.

Required Skills

  • Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking: Resolve bottlenecks, track dependencies, and drive strategic value in projects and programs.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey status effectively to all organizational levels, including material preparation for senior stakeholders. 

  • Collaboration, Facilitation, and Leadership:  Engage and work with cross-functional teams to deliver objectives with strong facilitation skills.

  • Technical Acumen: Understand, digest, and analyze complex systems integration.  Waterfall development methodologies with alignment to some Agile teams.

  • Flexibility: Ability to flex to support a dynamic environment with multiple priorities is a must.  Flexibility to work across varying time zones.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
