Job Summary

The Caregiver provides in-home support to clients who need assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities include personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, housekeeping, and companionship. Caregivers follow each client's individualized Service Plan and maintain accurate documentation. Success in this role requires patience, empathy, dependability, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
  • Follow the client's Service Plan and document all services provided
  • Support medication needs per policy and state regulations
  • Maintain a clean, safe home environment, including light housekeeping and laundry
  • Prepare meals or assist with grocery shopping as needed
  • Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior promptly
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Transport clients to approved appointments or errands
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Ensure consistent, timely attendance and reliable communication with the office

Skills and Qualifications

  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and document care accurately
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance
  • Ability to lift or assist clients and perform physical tasks as needed
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Education and Experience

  • Previous caregiving experience preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in client homes, which vary in environment and accessibility
  • Requires standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and physical activity throughout the shift
  • Caregivers may travel up to 30 miles one way to client locations
  • May encounter pets, family members, or other household conditions
  • Works independently without immediate on-site support

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Required Travel: Travel to client homes
