Driver

Job Description: A Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting packages and other goods from Kapal facilities to residential, commercial, and jobsite locations. Duties include loading and unloading cargo, using navigation tools to arrive at the correct destination, and delivering products accurately and professionally. Drivers are expected to maintain delivery schedules, uphold traffic and safety laws, and ensure delivery documentation is completed properly.
This position is considered safety-sensitive and high-risk, requiring strict adherence to company safety protocols, Department of Transportation (DOT)-like inspection procedures, and timely communication with supervisors. Drivers are key players in maintaining client satisfaction, jobsite efficiency, and operational success.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow best practices for safety, both on the road and during loading/unloading
• Communicate with supervisors and team members to confirm delivery details
• Load and unload cargo at warehouses and job sites
• Use routing/navigation tools to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
• Deliver products to residential, commercial, and jobsite addresses as scheduled
• Obtain client or customer signatures when required
• Record cargo deliveries and return signed documents to the office
• Maintain accurate tracking logs and log hours daily
• Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Keep vehicle refueled, clean, and well-maintained at all times
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues
• Report any road incidents, near-misses, or delays to the Logistics Coordinator
• Follow all local, state, and federal traffic laws
• Follow Company accident/incident procedures immediately if needed
• Travel outside of the RGV when necessary for job-related deliveries
• Return all fuel receipts and travel expense documentation every Monday
• Responsible for all company tools and equipment assigned to the trucks, and must ensure that these remain complete, accounted for, and in proper condition at all times. Missing or incomplete tool sets are not acceptable.
• Other duties as assigned by Kapal from time to time

Required Skills and Expectations:

• Clean driving record and valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Excellent knowledge of local and regional roads
• Physically capable of lifting, moving, and securing heavy materials
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Detail-oriented and proactive in reporting issues or delays
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
• High level of responsibility, reliability, and integrity
