The Program Coordinator will lead the planning, facilitation, and coordination of weekly youth leadership sessions. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and organized individual passionate about youth development, wellness, and community engagement. The coordinator will guide teens through interactive learning experiences and support them in designing their own community health projects.
About The Program
The Wellness Ambassador is a dynamic program designed to empower Prince George's County teens with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become champions of health in their schools and communities. Through hands-on workshops, career panels, and youth-led community projects, participants explore wellness education, peer advocacy, and health careers — building a new generation of health leaders.

- Facilitate weekly program sessions (in-person and/or hybrid) focused on leadership, wellness, and advocacy
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for youth participants
- Help coordinate guest speakers and community partnerships
- Support youth in developing and implementing community health projects
- Track attendance, collect evaluations, and support program data reporting
- Communicate regularly with parents, mentors, and community partners
- Assist with outreach and recruitment of program participants
- Represent the organization and program at community events as needed
Required
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Experience working with teens (ages 13–18) in educational, youth development, or community settings
- Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills
- Interest in health, wellness, or leadership education
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends)
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and empowering youth voice
Preferred
- Knowledge of Prince George's County communities and youth resources
- Background in fitness, nutrition, mental health, or wellness programming
- Experience coordinating community programs or youth leadership initiatives
- An associate's degree or higher in public health, health administration, social work, education, recreation, or a related field
