Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. The Opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Data Scientist with solid technical skills, good communication, and analytical experience. This person will be responsible for estimating and monitoring various consumer auto originations credit risk metrics and their impact to pricing of consumer products. They will also build tools for analyzing price sensitivities and optimizing pricing strategies. The ideal candidate is familiar with data science techniques and machine learning algorithms and can apply them in a dynamic business environment to support decisions with direct impact to the bottom line. Knowledge of predictive analytics, SQL and big data management, Python (or R) programming are needed as the foundation for this role.
The Work Itself
- Heavy emphasis on advanced coding and ability to create predictive and statistical models from the ground up.
- Incorporates the use of algorithms into analytics and modeling.
- Has knowledge of data and business acumen.
- Utilizes machine learning and experimental design techniques.
- Builds credit risk and pricing predictive and prescriptive analytical tools in support of data driven business decisions.
- Applies optimization algorithms to identify opportunities for achieving specific business objectives, such as minimizing risks and maximizing profitability.
- Streamlines data usage and interfaces information dashboards to create consistency and efficiencies across business processes.
- Learns how to apply best practices and to filter data into meaningful information.
Skills
The Skills You Bring
- 1+ year of analytics experience required.
- Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred
- Application knowledge of Snowflake SQL, Python, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Some experience with credit risk analytics and pricing optimization are preferred.
- Exposure to logistic regression, decision trees, survival analysis, mathematical programs is a plus.
- Ability to organize and explore large data sets to identify trends/insights as well as translate results into business recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate with team members on assignments.
