We are seeking a diligent and efficient Order Picker to join our dynamic warehouse team in Indianapolis, Indiana. As an Order Picker, you will play a crucial role in our logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately and promptly fulfilled. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order sheets and prepare them for packing and shipping. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all company safety protocols and guidelines. The ideal candidate is someone who is reliable, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards of productivity and accuracy. Understanding and following inventory procedures is also a key aspect of this position. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from designated warehouse locations according to order slips.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure accuracy.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, if required and certified.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles are clear and products are stored correctly.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory or product damage to a supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular inventory counts and audits.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
- Achieve daily picking targets while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Understand and utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for picking tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse or order picking experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform moderate to heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Familiarity with warehouse safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Experience in the logistics industry is advantageous.
