Our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility is looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our dedicated warehouse team. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to all safety protocols. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will manage a team of warehouse associates, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of goods, optimizing inventory levels, and implementing strategies to improve operational workflows. You will play a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment, ensuring that all staff are compliant with safety regulations and properly equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires the ability to assist with or perform heavy lifting when necessary, demonstrating leadership by example. Understanding the intricacies of logistics and supply chain management is key to success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team.
- Ensure efficient and accurate processing of all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Implement and enforce all safety regulations and policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Manage inventory levels and oversee stock rotation.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff.
- Optimize warehouse layout and workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance.
- Resolve operational issues and discrepancies promptly.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, logistics, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing business needs.
