Join our premier logistics team as a Forklift Operator in Chicago, Illinois! We are searching for experienced and safety-conscious individuals to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our expansive warehouse. This role is fundamental to our daily operations, ensuring efficient material flow, accurate inventory management, and timely order fulfillment. You will be a critical part of our supply chain, working closely with supervisors and fellow team members to maintain productivity and uphold our high standards of safety. The ideal candidate possesses a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of warehouse procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to transport materials.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist in inventory control, cycle counting, and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways and safe conditions.
- Support other warehouse operations such as picking, packing, and shipping as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable Forklift Operator experience.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Comprehensive knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and best practices in logistics.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
