We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our bustling warehouse operations in New York City, New York. In this essential role, you will manage the inbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency from arrival to stocking. Your duties will include unloading shipments, meticulously inspecting incoming products for any damages or discrepancies, and accurately recording received items into our inventory system. Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail are vital for preventing errors and maintaining the integrity of our logistics chain. You will be responsible for verifying delivery documents against purchase orders and communicating effectively with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any issues. Safety is paramount in our dynamic urban environment; therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting and moving of goods. We seek reliable individuals with good communication skills and a team-player attitude. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments efficiently.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies upon arrival.
- Accurately document all received items using the inventory system.
- Verify delivery manifests and purchase orders.
- Stock received items in their designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers and internal teams.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of inventory and logistics procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
