Our rapidly expanding logistics hub in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a reliable Receiving Clerk to manage our inbound flow of goods. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate receipt, inspection, and documentation of all incoming shipments. Your meticulous approach ensures that our inventory systems are up-to-date and that materials are ready for distribution. This position involves physical work, including lifting and moving products, and requires a strong understanding of safety protocols. You will be a key link between our suppliers and our internal operations, resolving discrepancies and ensuring smooth transitions. We are committed to a safe and productive work environment. - Unload incoming trucks and verify the contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, defects, and correct quantities.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and prepare goods for distribution or storage.
- Address and resolve any shipping discrepancies or damages.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
- Operate manual equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Strictly follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments.
- Support overall warehouse logistics and operational efficiency.
Prior experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a warehouse environment is beneficial. Must be able to handle frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Ability to thrive in a busy logistics setting. Demonstrated commitment to safety is a must. Must be at least 18 years of age.
