We are hiring a Picker/Packer for our busy warehouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is fundamental to our order fulfillment process, ensuring that customers receive their orders accurately and on time. You will be responsible for accurately picking items from warehouse shelves, preparing them for shipment, and packing them securely to prevent damage during transit. This position requires speed, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Verify order accuracy before packing and shipment.
- Label packages correctly for shipping.
- Assist with receiving and stocking incoming merchandise.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and warehouse area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and the use of required PPE.
- Operate pallet jacks and hand trucks as needed for order fulfillment.
- Contribute to team goals by working collaboratively and meeting productivity targets.
- Support general warehouse operations as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a picker/packer or in a similar warehouse role is beneficial. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to perform tasks involving frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds. Strong attention to detail is crucial for order accuracy. Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and the use of PPE is mandatory. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. This role is key to our logistics success.
