Our dynamic logistics company in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is fundamental to our warehouse operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within our facility, contributing directly to the seamless flow of our supply chain. The ideal candidate possesses excellent forklift operating skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a critical role within our operations, supporting our commitment to timely and accurate deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport inventory to designated storage areas, production lines, or shipping bays.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and locations using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including wearing required PPE (e.g., safety shoes, vests, hard hats).
- Assist with general warehouse tasks, such as order picking, packing, and staging, as needed.
- Ensure the proper handling and stacking of goods to prevent damage and maintain workplace organization.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets.
- Understand and implement FIFO/LIFO principles for inventory management.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our Logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification and a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Unwavering commitment to workplace Safety and correct use of PPE .
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience in a Logistics or distribution setting is highly valued.
