As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you'll lead recruitment initiatives, develop proactive sourcing pipelines, and serve as a trusted advisor to leaders.   • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans using job boards, social media, networking, referrals, and proactive search efforts.
  • Build and maintain a strong candidate pipeline for current and future vacancies through continuous sourcing and market engagement.
  • Conduct candidate screening and interviews to assess qualifications, experience, and cultural alignment.
  • Manage the full‑cycle recruitment process from job posting to offer negotiation and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, provide recruitment guidance, and support workforce planning.
  • Ensure all recruitment practices comply with employment legislation, internal policies, and collective agreement requirements.
  • Collaborate with Labour Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HR, and other SMEs to provide integrated and informed support.
  • Strengthen Finning's employer brand by developing compelling job postings, participating in recruitment events, and leveraging marketing and communications channels.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Conduct phone screens, schedule interviews, and manage candidate communications.
  • Update and maintain accurate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Analyze recruitment data to track progress, forecast hiring needs, and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Partner with hiring managers daily on candidate updates, interview results, and next steps.
  • Participate in job fairs, campus engagements, or industry events to promote Finning as an employer of choice.

Requirements:

  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience in a consultative advisor capacity.
  • Proven experience managing full‑cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms and HRIS systems (Workday is an asset).
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Understanding of labour laws, employment standards, and collective agreements.
  • Knowledge of recruitment analytics, employer branding, and diversity and inclusion best practices.
  • Experience working in a unionized heavy industrial environment is preferred.
  • HR designation (CPHR) or progress toward completion is considered an asset.

Important:

  • This position is based out of Edmonton or Calgary locations.
  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • Monday – Friday, 5x2 schedule.
