We are looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming shipments. Your duties will include unloading deliveries, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, verifying contents against purchase orders, and entering received items into our inventory management system. This position requires a keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate records. You will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of our inventory and the smooth flow of goods into our warehouse. We are seeking reliable and diligent individuals who understand the importance of accuracy in logistics. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or overages.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage incoming inventory for put-away.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to supervisors and relevant departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks to move materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in receiving, shipping, or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting, typically up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control principles.
- A strong commitment to workplace Safety.
- Must be able to wear and use required PPE, such as safety vests and gloves.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
