We are looking for a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our Austin, Texas warehouse team. This position is vital to our operations, as you will be the first point of contact for all incoming goods. Your primary responsibilities will include unloading shipments, inspecting merchandise for damage or discrepancies, accurately recording received items into our inventory system, and organizing materials for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas. A strong commitment to accuracy and safety is paramount in this role. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks, ensuring proper handling and care of all materials.
- Inspect all deliveries for damage, shortages, or overages and document any discrepancies.
- Verify packing slips against purchase orders and ensure all documentation is accurate.
- Enter received goods into the warehouse management system (WMS) promptly and accurately.
- Tag and label incoming inventory as required.
- Organize received products and place them in designated storage areas.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving dock and surrounding warehouse areas.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements and enforce safety standards for yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including inventory counts and order picking.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a receiving or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with WMS software is a plus.
- Adherence to all safety regulations and proper use of PPE is required.
