Full time: 40 hours per week.
Protec Fire and Security Group, a Bosch company, has opportunities for experienced and skilled fire and security design engineers.
At Protec, we’re on the front line of creating safer environments – working on major fire and life safety projects throughout the UK.
From concept through to completion, you’ll be hands‑on with Protec’s own cutting‑edge technology designing integrated life safety systems that truly make a difference. Your expertise in British Standards will be the backbone of our Design and Projects teams. This is your chance to combine technical knowledge and your design skills and abilities in playing a key role in safeguarding people where it matters most.
You will work closely with regional Project Managers to manage and deliver comprehensive Life Safety System designs for complex major projects. You will have previous design experience and technical understanding of fire and security related systems with a proven ability to professionally document, illustrate and present detailed fire and security system designs with in‑depth knowledge of the relevant standards: BS5839, pt1, pt8, pt9, BS6266, BS7671 and BS7273.
Responsibilities
To become fully competent, through in‑house training, in the use of the Company’s computer systems to meet customer requirements and communicate accurate and valid information when conversing with both internal and external customers.
To represent the Company consistently and positively to customers in line with the Customer Care Requirements.
To always maintain effective communication with both internal and external customers.
To ensure all documentation is accurately completed, stored, and provided to appropriate personnel when required.
Implement Company design procedures with the relevant stakeholders, ensuring there is a full understanding of the scope documents, and the system design is fully compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
Manage the post order design process from sales handover to completion, ensuring all documentation/drawings/calculations are produced/recorded and reported in line with company standards.
Any other duties commensurate with the role.
