We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our bustling distribution center in Boston, Massachusetts. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your expertise in material handling is key to maintaining the efficient flow of goods through our logistics network. This position requires a strong understanding of forklift operation, warehouse safety protocols, and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to load and unload materials and products.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage, or from storage to staging areas for shipping.
- Stack and arrange products in designated areas, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and locations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory control activities and assist with cycle counts.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency and meet productivity goals.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to upholding a high standard of safety at all times.
- Must wear appropriate PPE as required.
