A dynamic opportunity awaits for an experienced Shipping Clerk in our Washington, D.C. facility. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our shipping department, ensuring all outbound shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing shipment documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining clear communication channels within our logistics network. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who can contribute to a high-performing team and maintain our standards of operational excellence. Your role will directly impact our ability to serve our clients effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipment documentation, including invoices and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and track deliveries.
- Maintain organized and accurate shipping records.
- Inspect outgoing goods for quality and accuracy before dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Consistent use of required PPE for all tasks.
- Support the warehouse team with general duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics environment.
- Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capability for moderate physical exertion, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Dedication to maintaining a high standard of safety in the workplace.
