About the Role We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Cyber Security Analyst to join our dedicated security team at Kingsgate Recruitment Ltd. This entry‑level role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those new to the cyber security field to develop practical skills and gain hands‑on experience in a supportive environment. As a Graduate Cyber Security Analyst, you will work closely with experienced security professionals to learn how to identify and respond to cyber threats, implement security measures, and contribute to the overall safety of our client’s digital assets. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about cybersecurity, eager to learn, and committed to building a career in this rapidly evolving industry.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a genuine interest in cyber security and a foundational understanding of related concepts.
Relevant qualifications include a recent degree or equivalent in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Security, Networking, or a related discipline.
Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for continuous learning and possess strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux, as well as basic networking principles, will be advantageous.
While prior experience is not mandatory, any exposure to security tools, scripting languages, or certifications will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
Assist in monitoring security alerts and responding to potential threats in real‑time, supporting incident response activities to mitigate risks effectively>Gain practical experience with security tools such as firewalls, SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), endpoint protection solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
Participate in vulnerability assessments by running scans and analyzing results to identify weaknesses within systems, recommending appropriate remediation steps.
Support compliance initiatives by helping ensure organizational adherence to security standards such as ISO 27001, GDPR, and Cyber Essentials.
Contribute to internal security awareness campaigns and training programs to enhance staff understanding of cyber hygiene best practices.
Assist in investigating security incidents by analyzing logs, tracing root causes, and documenting findings for future reference and improvement.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends through continuous research and learning.
