As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timely handling. Your duties will encompass receiving, storing, retrieving, and dispatching various goods using appropriate equipment. This role is critical to maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting our production and shipping departments. We are looking for individuals who are proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling machinery, and who possess a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Adherence to safety protocols and the correct use of PPE are paramount in this role. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure a smooth workflow and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick and prepare materials for internal transfers or external shipment.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent tracking.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in regular safety training and team meetings.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE.
