Our dynamic logistics hub in Baltimore, Maryland, is looking for an experienced Material Handler to manage the movement of goods within our facility. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various equipment to load, unload, transport, and store materials. This role is crucial for maintaining workflow and ensuring that products are handled correctly throughout the supply chain. We prioritize a secure working environment and expect all employees to uphold our high safety standards, including proper PPE usage and adherence to safe lifting protocols. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Stack and arrange materials in an organized manner.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including receiving and stocking.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support the smooth functioning of the entire logistics operation.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification or the ability to obtain one.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks involving frequent lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, with proper technique.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and procedures.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
